Spares from banger racer
This came up on ebay in Swindon. '72 auto 164 (looks more like a '70 to me with early door handles) that's going out in a blaze of glory, sadly. Awful thing to happen although the body shell looks scrap anyway (rust holes under screen and caved in roof). The owner has, however, offered the parts for sale if they are substituted for others. I presume this means that you can buy a bonnet, doors etc if you supply rusty or dented ones to replace them. He needs to keep the running gear though.
I hate to see this happen to cars but at least the racer appreciates that the parts would be useful to someone. I'm too far away to get involved as otherwise I could supply a load of scrap doors etc. The front wings look good. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volvo-164-...p2056016.l4276

Spares rescue
HI
I have rescued most of this, and have arranged to have engine and box and, if not too damaged, the front and rear axles. Someone else had the doors and interior, and car was fairly bad state. Inner wings needed, both front and rear. It would have needed a lot of welding and panels. Someone also had jacked up the car from under the tank. |

I had the doors. Mine were pretty shot at the bottom.
Also a friend sent me these on Facebook... Looks like she's ready to go. |
