Default manifolds question

Hi There

I had a new head on my 144 B20A recently and not surprisingly the 46 year old exhaust manifold isn't in the best shape on the face, so I'm considering a new Simonz exhaust manifold.

My question is - are the inlet and exhaust manifolds on the B20A two separate pieces of metal that jigsaw together? Simonz suggests a modification may need to be done to the inlet??? I'm not so sure?

Thanks

I would have thought that fitting a multi-branch manifold would be pretty pointless with a single carb anyway. It might be better to get a reasonable used B20A manifold to replace yours. Many people have taken these off to fit twin SUs so they should be around.
Additionally, the Simons manifold is probably designed to go with either the Weber inlet manifold or an aluminium twin SU (as per early B18Bs) so it's thicker than your single Stromberg manifold. Furthermore you'd need to chop the exhaust part off your old one-piece manifold and that's a pain.
