Hi

I bought a 98 S70 T5 auto 3 weeks ago. Was testing the 0 - 100 km sprint, although not an accurate test, a stop watch was used and the quickest I could get was 8,2 seconds.

The details of the car are as follows: Has 142 000 km, weighs 1620kg ( got it weighed with me and 50L of petrol ) running standard 16" tyres, 2.3 bars front, 2.6 bars rear, flat straight road, running on BP 95 unleaded, air temp 14 deg, low humidity, almost no wind, car is completely standard with no mods at all.

I thought the car would be faster than this or is this round about correct for this car ? Or maybe am I expecting too much from a car that is 8 years old ?

One other question is the ride quality, it is terribly hard, you feel every bump on the road. Im not sure if the shocks/dampers/struts are finished but the car has good road handling, can take turns and stick to the ground, good braking, even at 205km/h it can turn a 160 degree turn well. I bounced the rear of the car and it goes down quite easily, but the front is extremely hard. I had a look at the strut and it is a monroe strut, no signs of leakage. The tyres are new Pirelli P6000. I dont understand why the ride quality is this bad.

Hope someone can shed some light on this.

Thanks in advance.

Could it be anything to do with the flame throwers I understand you have fitted as standard? LOL

98 octane petrol may increase performance?
The P6000 tyres havesome very bad reviews on this forum - giving worse ride quality?
