  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

The accepted advice is always new pads whenever new disc are fitted. They really should be doing both.

So are they going to flatten the brake shoe friction material back to a smooth surface and then bed them into the new rotors for you ?!

It would be rather daft of them not to replace the pads as well - it's a relatively tiny cost to them.

All done, discs replaced, pads were ok. To be fair the discs were the originals from 2010 and needed replacing, so to end up with new discs and pads for an all in cost of £60 is a result, given that it would have been £400 to get them done at a Volvo dealer.

Thanks. I guess it helps if you've been a loyal customer and there's a friendly relationship with the dealer. Mistakes happen. It seems the parts dept gave the workshop the wrong part. The pads are so similar it's easy to see how the fitter wouldn't spot the error.
