EPB Removal/Wind off: Where do I go from here?
Hiya guys, I am new to this forum, and I`m gonna jump right in at the deep end I`m afraid.
I own a 2012 V60 D4, I have just replaced the rear brake discs with some difficulty. I am using an AUTEL MOT PRO to activate service mode on the EPB option. It retracted the handbrake mechanism electrically on the O/S, I disconnected the actuator plugs on both sides. I then pushed the O/S calliper piston in manually and built up the brakes. I then attempted to push the N/S calliper piston, but no joy. I applied 12v to the actuator retracting the handbrake mechanism allowing the piston to be pushed in, I rebuilt the N/S brakes as normal and reconnected the actuator plugs. I returned to the AUTEL reader to exit service mode. I now get a warning on the dash: PARKING BRAKE NOT FULLY RETRACTED, and the parking brake will not engage. PLease, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Dougie |

Sounds like it could be stuck. With the motor wound in, can you manually wind the calliper piston in and out?
Failing that, re fit the calliper and power up the motor to force the calliper piston back out as if to engage the EPB. Maybe also pump the foot brake and check that the wheels lock up when the car of off the ground.
