Default Accessories

Here is a picture of my latest find = a pair of spotlight covers.

These are the rare 281057 which were only sold as an accessory.

The ones you see on a GT are the 281056, which also were made as repro a few years back.

The difference on the 2 types are the size.

Thanks Steve,

yes these are not easy to find.

Regarding me using them = dont think they will get room enough ?

the spots in my accessory grill, sit very "snug" against the rim in the grills.

Might end up swapping for another accessory ? or just put them in the boot at car show,s .

Hi Jens. Can you post a pic of your spots? I think you may have what I have been thinking of doing and I would be interested to see how they look.

Hi Graham,

Here is a picture of the whole kit = grills - spots & brackets.

Took me more than 27 years to get a complete kit.

This and the tourist kit are some of the rarest accessories Volvo made.

Towing hook kit right behind the 2 above.

Thanks Jens, you have done well. I didn't know that Volvo did a grill with a driving light insert so I was expecting to have to make my own - I expect that I still will!

Can anyone post a pic of these fitted on a car?

Hi Graham, its not hard to make, you need to find or fabricate a alloy ring that fits around the spots you want to use.
These need to be the smaller type, if you want it to look original (and good) I have seen one with the bigger 123GT size spots built in, and it was not very nice.

There is a picture of my car in the big Dutch Volvo book, from the late 80-early 90ies.
I can also post one inhere later (when I am home on my own computer) .

Jens Christian.

Hi Derek, how cool is that is it Yellow with Black print ? or Blue with White print ?

From memory does it contain

1 = fanbelt
2 = a few bulps
3 = full set of fuses in a sealed bag.
4 = condenser
5 = contact sets for B18A - B18B & B18D.
6 = headgasket
7 = rocker cover gasket
8 = manifold to head gasket
9 = varius carburator gaskets for B18A & B - D

think that was it.

It's the normal blue with white writing. Think mine only has gaskets left. Fuzzy memory seems to remember there is a list on the front. It's in a box with some other gaskets I'll have to see if I can dig it out. Dig is a fair description. lol.
