Default Amazon Door Cards. Advice on how to get them off please

The knicker elastic in the door pocket on my old Amazon Estate has bust.

I recall losing my temper the one and only time I removed a door card because of how tricky I found it to remove or replace (can't remember which) the door handle and window winder. From memory, the spring thingamer kept pinging off.

Is there a simple instruction someone could please help me out with here?

There is a proper tool for this, but I made this from a bit of 20 gauge steel. Put the pointy end under the end of the spring, and with a bit of wiggling it will come off. If you hold a rag the other side of the handle you should catch the clip.
Good luck.

S&G;

I use a putty knife behind Door Card clips to spread force of levering DC off, and prevent clip from tearing out of old and brittle fiber board.

...but before you can remove DC, Handles need to be removed...these are secured onto splined shafts by Omega Clips, which can be tricky...see: http://www.sw-em.com/Omega_Clip_Notes.htm

Good Hunting!

Thank you very much to you both. I seem to remember nicking a crochet hook from my mum the last time and pulled the omega hook off instead of pushing it off. I went wrong.
