Retro fit usb centre console

Hi all,

Recently took the arm rest apart to retro fit usb power however found that the usb loom is there.

Bought usb part etc from Volvo but don’t get any power and obviously the stereo has no media option for usb

I felt there may still be power but that the radio may need a flash or update of some sort, however, no power and Volvo say there is no such thing as a radio update / flash?

Am I peeing in the wind or should this be simple?

Volvo have said if I find a part number for supposed software they would try it

I am trying to do the same thing but am not sure if the USB harness is present. Can you send a picture of it under the armrest, because I have a connector but cannot tell what it is for...
As to the software - you must flash it, because the car doesn't know there is a USB, but I am at a loss why Volvo told you that... Probably a Vida Dice device can help you with that.

Found a serial number for software, not sure it will fit your stereo though. There are more in the website. Check for your exact model
