Volvo Dashcam accessory

In the latest "Vinter" edition of the My Volvo magazine, they mention that the Roadhawk DC2 dashcam is now an official volvo accessory. It comes hardwired for £240 which seems to be about the same as paying full retail and paying to get it installed. No doubt volvo do better on the deal by paying trade prices.
Out of interest I sent off an email to my dealer, but have not had a reply yet.

At the bottom of the page for this offer, it says that "not all accessories are available for all models, check the Volvo website for confirmation for your model" or words to that effect.

I checked the XC60 accessories on the website, and it doesn't show the dashcam on there, so not sure if it is compatible.

I already have two on order for my XC60. The main dealer is just waiting for them to come in before I book it in.

The price includes fitting so the answer must be yes. Also the guy ordering them said the instructions say not to wire the rear camera to the permanent live in the rear, but an ignition controlled one.

or you could buy another unit from Amazon or eBay and get it fitted by your local auto electrician for a substantial amount less . . .

I have a good dash cam fitted, that cost around £50, professionally fitted for £10 (Ok I know the fitter!) and a 64Gb micro SD card for £20, which is certainly a helluva lot less than you guys are proposing !

I have dash cams in both my V70 and Pajero both i have hard wired myself both have 32gb cards and have a running loop emegency lock if involved in a bump the 2 including all the bits cost a wopping £52.00

I had a response from the dealer. The cameras can be fitted both front and rear as indicated by a previous poster. There apparently is several days wait as the units are supplied direct from the manufacturer. Next question will be will the dealer do a discount for two cameras (otherwise it is getting a bit pricey).
