Default V50 1.6D SRS Urgent Service Required

Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster! I've managed to fix many problems after following advice on here but now I'm a bit stumped on what to do. Had the SRS urgent service required warning come on today whilst rolling up to some traffic lights. Completely out of the blue, nothing obvious seems to have happened to trigger it. Reading other posts it seems that loose wiring might be a cause so I'm going to check all that tomorrow morning, but then am I correct in thinking that the light will need a reset via VIDA/DICE to see if the problem persists? Any kind souls in the Stockport/Buxton areas with one that'd help out in exchange for a few quid/beers?

Thanks in advance!

It’s not quite that simple...

Loose wiring is a possible cause, the SRS system constantly checks for continuity thru all components and sets the warning flag if it finds anything wrong. Trouble is even after you’ve fixed the issue the SRS warning will still need to be reset using VIDA/DICE or at least an SRS capable code reader. Simply solving the problem does not make the warning go away. The other side of that coin is that just because the light is still on it doesn’t mean you haven’t fixed it.

Yes, that's what I understand to be the case.. sorry if I didn't make that clear.

But thinking I have fixed it, I need to reset it.. right? Then if it comes back then it is indeed something else. Hence the request for a helpful soul
