Default V40 Cambelt

I have a March 2016 V40 about 20k on the clock now and a service plan for 5 years (so 3 year in).

Does anyone know when the cambelt is due? I'll be taking it to a decent indi rather than main dealer for that but don't want to forget when it's due and risk potential failure!

144000 miles or 10 years which ever comes first ...

However the diesel version has just been revised to 90000 miles , you need to check the latest situation with your petrol version with your dealer as the information has not filtered through to the outside world yet .

In all probability it will be as above as petrol engines are much kinder on their cambelts , but you need to check.

Thanks will do.

We'll get to 10 years long before we get to 144k, we were under 20k at 3 years old earlier this year.

Good to know it's not too close just yet, has to be done and it's never cheap. I remember my main dealer saying someting like £1100 whcih is why when it does happen it'll be a well respected indi garage.
