Default '58 Plate V70 D5

I'm looking, more than idly, at a '58 plate V70 D5 with 90,000 on the clock. Has a full service history and its MOTs are clear of any advisories.

Are there any specific things I should look out for?

Also what is a reasonable price to pay for a car of this spec?

AFAIK that should be in the other section. P2 models ended 2007

Yep, Barry is right wrong section.......but as you say "Full Service History" does that included a cambelt change ?
Due at 108k or 10 years. If it has not been done it'll need doing.....not cheap by main dealer prices. So if it hasn't there's a bargaining point for you.
Spec you ask......What letters are there after D5..... SE or something else ?
Have the rear radius arm bushes been done ? Another bargaining point for you....usually last 70 to 80k, could last longer but.................
i could go on............

Good Luck

As stated above, the cambelt is due. The aux belts & aux belt tensioner are also due for replacement. If these haven't been done, then definitely use this to negotiate a reduction in price & get them done ASAP. It would be no harm to consider a gearbox oil change either. If you do purchase the vehicle & know that these jobs haven't been done, then use genuine Volvo parts & not the cheaper aftermarket alternatives.

Many people define "Full Service History" in different ways. It could have regular oil changes as an example with multiple stamps in the book by non-Volvo garages. Or it may have full Volvo dealership history, whereby services would have been completed to dealer specifications & much more would have been checked in addition to the basic servicing - That's something worth checking.

While a full service history may be a nice thing to have be aware that more than enough of these have been "fiddled" and what you want to see along with the history is lots of proper receipts for parts etc.

Sorry if it's in the wrong section - could have sworn I posted it in the V70 00-07 area.

Turns out it's a 2.4D with a Geatronic box with a mix of Volvo Dealer and other stamps in the book. Trying to get sight of receipts or more details on what's been done but not making much progress, which suggests the big things that have been flagged up as needing doing haven't - last stamp in the book is 1 year ago at 83,000 miles

You did, but a ‘58’ plate is 2008/9 so most likely a P3 model - I’ve seen very few P2’s on this late a plate and those that are seem to be ex-police T5’s

Car has 90,000 miles
recommended aux belt change: 108,000 miles

How can this need changing now ?

Not saying early intervention is not a good thing....

108,000 or ten years, whichever comes soonest. So it’s due on age and not mileage.
