Default Anti skid alert

Could someone kindly explain what the message "anti skid service required" means. Is this just an automatic time linked message, or something more relevant. I have an S60 year 2005. The message has appeared twice but now gone. I would be very grateful for any help.

Unfortunately there are several faults that bring up "anti skid service required" and the only way to narrow it down is look at the Vida fault codes. On our old V50 it was simply metallic particles stuck to the wheel sensor which used magnets built into the wheel bearing. A quick blow with an air line sorted it out but it needed a Vida code to identify which wheel was at fault.
