Good Morning guys I'm in need of some help if use can.
Long story short I bought a xc90 before Christmas turns out to be burning 2 litres of oil a week so decided to try and rebuild engine myself ( i fix planes) all went pretty well I'm going to upload it all on here all the little problems and fixes I had to date. One big problem car will not start no fuel coming from high pressure side of the pump. I've bought vida dice onlyrics one code ecm-663 so I replaced the glow plug the relay still no start. I'm now £3500 + in a parts hole and not a running car this is really frustrating. I've read 100 + threads last night. Lots of problems starting but then the car gets fixes and no results as to how they got there of wat the fix was they just dissappear.

Please help

Jon

Went into limp home mode when you try and accelerate. Dpf clogged up. The engine was a complete mess inside carbon build up on everything. Egr valve pipping could just about fit two fingers in aswell as the intake rocker cover. Oil control rings completely blocked nightmare. It's a pretty big job to rebuild it but seems harder trying to get it to start. I will post stage pictures of the process and what I found once I get this thing going again.

They're a really nice car to drive and the general build quality is very good I love it.

Maybe as simple as air in the hose from fuel tank? Try fitting a simple bottle with diesel and connect to intake of HP-fuel pump.
HP-pump is correctly connected mechanically?

Can't help you with your problems, but interested to know how many miles the car had done before it got all gunged up?

152000 miles. Well after days I've got it running so it turns out it was the pressure sensor on the rail that was faulty. The vida dice program seems to be not that good at diagnosing fuel system related problems. So if any1 gets this problem this I what I would change first.

Symptoms:
Car would not start after full rebuild
No fuel exiting from hp end of pump bottom steel pipe
Positive fuel pressure supplied from intank pump
Pressurised fuel exiting return side of inj pump top hose
Fuel rail not filling up
Glow plug relay fault codes plus #3 glow plug fault

Solution:
Pressure sensor at timing end of fuel rail no fault codes for this.

It was lucky I had a v70 for a spare parts car or I could have cost me a small fortune.

I hope this helps some one some day.
