Airbag – Passenger side wiring difference for different year
Hi,
I’m in the process of fitting a new dash to the XC90, and have run into a problem. The lead for the passenger airbag is has a different connector, so I though no problem - ill use the one from car originally. The 2 leads have a slight difference. Original car lead (6 pin harness plug in orange - 4 pins in use) - Pin 1 - Blue to green plug Pin 2 - Brown to green plug Pin 3 - Blue to purple plug Pin 4 - Brown to purple plug Lead that came with the airbag in the new dash (4 pin harness plug in yellow/brown - 4 pins all in use). Pin 1 - Blue to green plug Pin 2 - Brown to green plug Pin 3 - Brown to purple plug Pin 4 - Blue to purple plug As you can see pin 3 & 4 have the colours the opposite way around - does this make a difference to it in the car? Or is it just like a loop circuit? 2nd question, Harness 1 - (Orange) has come from a detonated airbag. Pin 2+ Pin 4 (both brown) show no consistency when tested. Harness 2 - (Yellow / Brown) has come from an undetonated airbag. Pin 2+ Pin 3 (both brown) show no consistency when tested. Is this correct? Do the wires need swapping around? This is all thats now stopping us. Many thanks for the help |
