from the top: C70 pre-FL V70 (up to 2007) FL V50 (2008+) FL V70 (2007+) the bottom line is neither of 3 are even remotely close to the 1st one. V50/S40 had the exactly same headlights so as you already established - those WONT fit. The pre-FL model s40/V50 differs only by internal beziel colour (gray or black) but shape and mounts are identical. And you checked that s40 wont fit so V50 is a dud either. FL V50 wont fit even more as its completely another shape. so as I said, sorry to burst your hopes but whether v50 or v70 anyway its a miss :/

I can only advise you to search locally at scrappers. There are a lot of them around Red Cow area, I visited 3 before I chosen best lamps possible. C70's are rare so you may be unlucky though. Have a look at findapart.ie or partfinder.ie , they have a list of all scrappers and cars listed, if you see c70 listed its a high chance its still around. otherwise - ebay, but price may be much worse. avoid aftermarket replacements - those are rubbish.

STILL on the HEADLAMP HUNT
I have found a few but not in the UK
SO QUESTIONS Can I change the dip from RHD to LHD easily? As I have found a pair that the seller says that they are EU/UK lamps but are set for LHD Is it an easy change to go to from Halogen to XENON if so what do I need apart from the headlight assemblies and will it be a plug and play job if i get all the correct Volvo parts? Will C70 2010/2013 Halogen Headlamps fit. I know they look different but are they the same shape with the same electrical connector ATM looks like the best price i have for two new C70 Volvo Lamps is £631.00m OUCH!!!!

Probably the best option is to find a s40/v50 owner near you and ask nicely if you can have a look and trial swop a headlight. As to Xenon HID, i've been researching a retrofit for mine and i strongly advise you read through https://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?135645 unfortunately it seems the skbowe unit is sold out |

Headlight projectors on our cars have small "flap" that you can turn when going abroad - making the beam pattern "legal" for mainland (or another way around). But it is only temporary solution as instead of proper \__\__ beam you are ultimately getting __ __ this. If you are not planning to replace projectors - do NOT buy mainland headlamps.
Now, if we are at replacing projectors topic... (said, sitting comfortably in chair with whisky glass in the hand... :P ). Have a look at my PDF tutorial on bixenon retrofit (in my signature). Its very easy, and also you are gaining on light output. You dont even have to go xenons, you can just get H7 retrofit. Its extra money spent, yes, but its an alternative for you. If doing so you want to go HID way, yes please - just make sure you do your homework and be aware what you are dealing with. You can still do this without SKBOWe (like I did) but it require some effort to mix&match components. any questions, shoot.
