Default Rear Nivomat Shocks

Well time has come to replace the rear shocks on my 2005MY D5.
One is definitely leaking and the other may as well bite the bullet as they've both done 309K miles.
I was preparing myself to donate a kidney or chance a 'genuine good' pair secondhand - but came across this company:
https://aerosus.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=165871-1+

I ordered a pair for the grand total of £476 including delivery. They're being fitted in a couple of weeks time - I'll let you know if there are any problems.

My limited search indicated that these are easily that price for just one from some suppliers so I'm happy with that. Seems pointless going the secondhand route for the little extra!

Cheers
Ian.

It'll be interesting to see how you get on with them.

There are some dodgy Trustpilot reviews.

Dave, tbf the bad reviews are all at the Trustpilot front end, in other words if you only read the 1st two pages it looks awful. The overall reviews are 94% either Excellent or Great. Looking fwd to hearing Ian's feedback on the shocks, as mine are on way out also.

Oh - OK, thanks - I'll take a look further into the list.

Certainly if it all works out well then its a handy resource.

Cheers

Apologies for the delay in updating on this.
SO - shocks replaced for the MOT and all is well.
Self levelling, .... 13 bags of sand, 150 brindle brick paving and 3 bags of cement they seemed to recover well once we were moving.
I measured the height from the ground to top of rear wheel arch before loading @ 79cm - after loading @70cm and once on the move they recovered to 77-78cm.
It was a pretty hefty weight so once parked up again they did drop down.
Normal 'unloaded' state, I'm not sure if they damp as well as the originals, but difficult to tell as I have 65 profile Mud/Snow tyres so they are quite bouncy anyway.
Still a pass is a pass and they've definitely perked the car up at the back now.

Cheers
Ian.

Hi, another update on the aerosus shocks. I ordered these last Thursday and incredibly I received them from Germany 24 hrs later on ya the Friday. Same price as Ian above. I have had them fitted and car feels fine so far. Early days right enough. Any issues going forward I’ll report back.

Taking delivery of my 2010 XC90 next week, just wondering if all mk1 XC90s have Nivomats and when they need preventive replacing ?

Ian, what are your experiences over time ?

Hi Alain,
Yes I believe all the Mk1 XC90's had Nivomats fitted. As far as replacement is concerned I think that only if there is any sign of them leaking tbh. I don't think the functionality deteriorates unless the seals start to go.

Cheers
Ian.
