I have been reading this thread with great interest as I have a very noisy power steering/pump on my 88K 1998 V70 CD T5 Auto.
The pump reservoir is the older style of square'ish design situated directly on and above the pump rather than next to the coolant tank on the inner wing. The thread seems to refer to the later wing mounted reservoir. The symptoms with my power steering are the same as in this thread, The loud noise when turning the wheel, grey frothy hydraulic oil in the reservoir and, pressure build up in the reservoir when releasing the cap. I would appreciate any guidance as to whether or not the older style reservoirs suffer the same problem as the later ones caused by a broken return pipe into/at the reservoir. Thanks, Bob |
