Yes.

Have a look at Tayna for a replacement. Yuasa was my choice.

your cash your choice

3-5 year (guarantee) batteries from "the usual suspects" which If you are lucky will last the 3-5 years depending

Volvo battery from main dealer, which Will last a lot longer than the "usual suspects" bats ,, and will not be the cost of 2 bats from the "usual suspects"

my v50 is a 04 plate, i have Just replaced the battery, a Volvo one dated 8 years ago with a volvo battery

the gargage iusually use said they only do vovlo batteries but was slightly evasive when i asked the price, which could just be that he didint know of the top of his head.

are they volvo branded or something? tbh i dont mind paying to get a good quality one so long as isnt insane priced.

mine is the 600CCA one £110 off the top of head
haulfrauds want £120 for a "yusa" branded one with an alleged "5 year guarantee" (said battery also looks like a 710 cca one,, so its a "best fit" at best),

Probably best not go to Halfords then.

Tayna, as stated, consistently the cheapest, I find. I don't think they include 'alleged' in their guarantee as far as I can see

Just been through all this myself.

Get a Volvo battery using the car's Reg No. phone the local Volvo Dealer parts dept. and ask for a polite discount. I paid £115.00 inc VAT.

The Volvo battery is also a perfect fit unlike some aftermarkets.

wait till you have had it 3+ years , go back to halfrauds and try to claim on the "guarantee" ,,, you will soon see why i added "alleged"

We're not buying from Halfords though, because too expensive - twice the price of Tayna's identical item

Being serious, there's plenty I buy Volvo OEM, but I'd rather pay half the price and get 4-5 years than hope for more by paying double, simply because I won't be running any of my car's for more than 4 or so years.

i keep my cars a lot longer than 4 years, its not a "hope" to get more than 4-5 from a volvo bat, its one of those things that is worth the £ IF you keep the car longer than 4years !
