For me, the pull away started to become weaker over a period of time and overall refinement of the engine started to suffer IMHO (Plenty of other folk here have experienced the powerpulse issue and may have the same or different experience to me) .... leading up to a much larger split that caused engine warning light to come on.

For me it was simply a feeling that off the line at certain junctions the car was struggling so yes, noticeable for me at least.

Reason being there is a specific junction on an incline onto a fast road I use frequently so pulling away quickly is often essential. Anything that interferes with my progress is immediately noticed

Put it this way, once it's repaired you notice the difference immediately as thats the primary purpose of the powerpulse system...

Mine was in 3 times for powerpulse hose. Kept leaking. Wish they’d never touched it as part of a recall. Last time they replaced the compressor and actuator too. Symptoms were hesitation pulling away (I have polestar) and could hear the compressor running for around 40 seconds even after parking just for a few mins.

OK - I don't hear the compressor running anymore... I used to pull away, then hear it running then i guess it was ready for the next time needed...

Seriously - should it still make a noise? or was it making a noise an issue?

The issue was it was losing all its pressure when the engine was off for a couple of minutes. Definitely not as designed.

Picking up the new Q5 on Saturday..

Got bored haggling with Volvo over mileage and pennies on a replacement car that should have just been "sorry for your inconvenience, we really want to make this up to you"

Shame Volvo couldn't sort this and keep you in the Volvo family.

Hope you enjoy your new car.
