Default Late L reg 240’s

Anyone have one of the late L reg GJO cars? Was they the last ones to be registered in the uk? We have L499 GJO.

I was offered about 10 years ago I think maybe L490 GJO, it had done about 130000 miles and the owners in Scotland had bought a v70 to replace it and it was sitting in their barn under a dust sheet, I wonder if it’s still there. I would like to buy it, anyone know if it’s whereabouts? I know it’s a long shot lol. I’m going to have a look for their telephone number, as I think I kept it, also a long shot I know as they may have moved in that time!

But I would be interested if anyone knows anything about the cars as they were clearly all registered at the same time with consecutive numbers, mostly blue, which ours is.

The DVLA website shows that the last MOT expired on 27th September 2008 so it may still be under the dust sheet ?? Dave

Yes I had checked that, just not 100% sure if it was L490, l have just been looking at that.

I tried some other numbers, and surprised at how many there actually are! I thought there was about 20 of them, but probably nearer 100, interesting to see the last mot dates and mileage’s, a lot stopped in 2008, most around 170000 miles. I found only a couple over 200000 miles, the highest 280000 miles, but said the same mileage on the last 4 or 5 years so probabily into the 300000s, with a speedo not working. Probably maybe 9 or 10 still going.
