Default R-Design Front Passenger Seat Folding

OK so I'm probably missing something obvious, but can the R-Design front passenger seat fold down for carrying long loads?

I tried putting the seat back forward but the side bolsters meant it couldn't get very far, so I tried folding it back and it was far from flat. Had a look in the manual which said you could pull on some little tabs at the back and it would fold back, but with a * stating only for 'comfort seats'.

Am I missing something?

Paul.

A know in my rdesign v40 there are two little black arms that stick out at the rear base of the seat you pull both of them and the seat folds forward flat. The arms are accessible from the rear passenger door look near the base of the seat in the passenger foot well. Ypu should see them at either side of the base

Nothing obvious on my R Design either.

Yep, same on the V60. To fold the seat forward flat, you have to position the seat so the head rest is wedge under the glove compartment. By doing this you risk creasing the side bolsters of your seat.

Far as I know it is only a std feature on Se Lux models.

Not sure about others - possible option on some

I don't think it is available on R design models.

Maybe because of the more padded side bolsters.

yup only on 'comfort' seats on the website, so not R design seats as mentioned above due to the side bolsters

Thanks for the replies everyone. Bit of a shame the seat can't fold as it greatly reduces the size of the load that can be carried, didn't even think to check when I was deciding on the trim level - mental note to think about it next time!

Paul.
