2.0 D4 VEA Engine - Anyone fitted an EGR blanking plate??
Very interesting thread regarding the recent Volvo recall notification for potential fire risk due to blocked intake manifold caused by EGR sludge build-up. https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=296328
However, it makes me wonder if anyone has tried fitting an EGR blanking plate to their vehicle and getting a remap to remove any subsequent EML warnings? Surely, this would eliminate any build-up of EGR soot/sludge in the intake manifold and potentially solve the problem? I realise that owners with a car still within its standard Volvo warranty might not want to try something like this, but for those with a slightly older car it might be a solution providing full peace of mind!? To be clear too, I'm not recommending this or suggesting that anyone else should recommend it, but I was curious to see if anyone had tried it? Thoughts anyone? J |

In the big 'D4 EGR thread' there's definitely been a post in the last year where someone did do this and he did reply when I asked him where he'd had it done.
