Default What is this sensor on 1.6 S40 R Design?

Can anyone tell me what this little gizmo is that is attached to the side of the battery box? There are two rubber hoses go from it round to the front of the engine into another mysterious contraption, One of the hoses has become brittle and is broken, apparently eroded from the inside, leaving a blueish residue. All fluid levels appear OK, despite the leak. Might this be something to do with aircon?
Any info appreciated.
Regards
Jim

That is your particle filter Pressure sensor , best get some new pipes fast before the particle filter blocks ..

Indeed, an easy fix and relatively quick to do diy. Just make sure you attempt it from below when connecting the DPF pipes. Far easier.
