Default Electric window controls

I have a 2012 Volvo S60 four door and my drivers master windows controls all of a sudden stopped working? The window controls on all the other windows work fine and the 20 amp fuse is fine too.
Any suggestions on what I can test to see if it's definitely the switch? Just expensive even used ones 😭
Thanks

It is unlikely that all 4 switches (switch mechanism) would fail simultaneously, so what is common? The fuse in the supply circuit, but that;s OK. The supply wire is one possibility but my guess would be the earth connection. Probably a small bit of water ingress from aging rubber seals and consequent corrosion of the earth connection.

Thanks for the reply, is that a earth connection on the door?

Yes - some earth connection common to the switch module

I got a multi meter and when I put a probe in the center cable for the window control connector and ground off the door hinge I get a constant 9v but if I put it on one of the bolts on the door itself the voltage jumps all over the place? The button for the central locking still works though! Would this confirm a bad ground / earth?

I looked at the wiring diagram - it appears as if the DDM (driver door module) which controls all functions in the door (including the central locking and the windows) has a SINGLE earth point.

It's worth checking but it seems that the problem is elsewhere

I got a second hand window control unit and still does not work so as long as the switch works it must be a issue either with the DDM or maybe a break in a cable! I would imagine if it was a a grounding issue then I would have issues with the central locking too? Driving me mad 🙄

Looks like I found the problem 😁. There's a broken wire in the hinge area between the car door and car body (blue/white) anyone know what diameter cable this is? Thanks
