Default Retro Turbo adjustable panhard rod

Ordered a adjustable panhard rod from Retro Turbo.

In the picture on the site there is a sturdy nut welded to the rod where there adjustable end screws into. The rod i received did not have that. The end of the rod was compressed (probably not the correct word) and threaded.
My question is how reliable this kind of solution is. The site boasts that the rod is "3x more superior in quality and strength to IPD rod". It does not look that way to me. The thread is about 1 cm long and i am afraid that this might give in in under hard cornering. What do you guys think, is this kind of connection sufficient?

Well judging by the polybushes we've just seen recently that he makes that have failed I wouldn't trust anything from that website!

I would send it back as it's not the same as the one advertised.

IMHO it looks homemade, like someone tapped a thread into the end of a piece of stainless steel curtain rail. It’s also not obvious to me how the adjustment would work. It doesn’t look as though it could be adjusted in situ or finely adjusted since you’d presumably need to get the end piece the right orientation to bolt onto the axle.

This looks a better design to me.

Now that I've actually clicked the link that looks nothing like what is advertised, I'd be sending it straight back.

Without doing a calculation, I would imagine the thread length is sufficient provided you're using the full 1cm. (you'd be amazed how much a few threads can handle) However, I can't tell what the remaining wall thickness in that region is. That would be worth checking/calculating.

Overall poor finish on the stainless item, insufficient wall thickness (without doing any calculations), the outer part of the threaded portion of the tube is chamfered at the open end so the lock nut will have very little to grip against - not fit for purpose!

good point!
i wouldn't worry about the thread if the thread was on a nut. Measured the wall thickness- it's 3 mm from the top of the thread, from the bottom it's maybe half of that. I am worried that it might stretch and not hold the bolt in.
I do not even want to think what would happen to the real axle if the panhard rod came loose mid-drive.
I'll send them an e-mail and see what they say.

I don’t like the look of that one bit, I’d get a refund and buy a better one. After buying the poly bushes from him I’m not so confident in the quality of a lot of the products having re-examined them more closely

These are not the up to date prices, think it was £120 now.
