The LEDS got here today, just under a week from Germany, the replacement kit of clips for the door trim came in a couple of days from PFS. So I've fitted the new lights having replaced all of the wire from the plug inside the back door to the two lights, I think they're now the brightest lights on the car , doing the wiring took a little while but nowhere near as long as trying to get the trim back and fixing the bit that broke as I removed it. Aah the joys of 22 year old Volvo plastic.

Made a DIY tensioner tool at 0p cost, used it to release drive belt so I could remove power steering pump and reservoir. That was necessary to remove the lower thermostat housing as the T40s had seized within it. One stud came out when cooked, the other had to be drilled. What a ballache, but after many days I managed to replace the thermostat...

DIY tensioner tool involved a spare wheel nut, a rotary tool and a lot of patience. Cut the threaded portion off, and sanded two corners flat until they were 19mm. Job jobbed.

0p Tensioner tool
Tensioner loosened

I'll probably get suitably bored enough soon that I will smarten it up, flat it properly and spray it...blah blah.

Don't buy that as it's too long to fit in the space... I know as I have one and tried it before cobbling something together myself

I had noticed those, before looking at their size. As above, don't fit.

I have a generic chrome one which is 40mm long overall. The eBay one looks as if it is much longer than that. Male insert length is half of that at 20mm. Bearing in mind that you have to use a ratchet or bar, would that still be too long?

Will measure next time I'm in the engine bay

Blimey craigoodwood, you were busy! How much of a pain in the rear is the clutch kit on these? For a fairly amateur DIYer in a driveway.

Lockdown boredom driving me insane...

Can't drive it so might as well give it a little bit of TLC

The underside of my 850 all looks the one colour and I am guessing it's went through a really muddy puddle or three at some point in time, so today I decided to start cleaning it up to assess what state it was in.

Happy to report it all looks rather splendid under there and once the Chemical Guys Bare Bones dries in it should look almost new
