Default 97 850r auto to manual converting

That was a great write up.
Im thinking of converting mine over as the rear main seal has just started leaking this week. I love the auto as im getting older and lazy but a 5spd would be very sweet.

I have a 1997 850 manual non turbo car as a parts car. Does anyone know if this trans will be ok to install in a 850r. Seems the manual trans dont really change.....can anyone confrim this.

Thanks
jason

This was an enjoyable read and even as a mechanic myself this is a big job to take on for an easter break lol.
Well done getting it all up and working though especially the little nippy bits like the cruise control etc.

My god that's some task, as the rest said, much admiration and respect, i wonder how hard it'd be to do on an 05 Audi A4 auto (cvt)

Hi Vince did you ever sort out the P1631 Error code on the auto ECU?
I'm having the same issue.
Kind Regards

What model year car are you dealing with? the later ones to the OP are a little more problematic!!

The ECU is linked directly (probably) to the immobiliser which in turn is linked to the ignition key so you will need at least all those 3 things, you will then probably find you have a clutch switch fault as well as that is not wired in so you need to wire it in!

The clutch slave cylinder needs to be from a 99 model & not earlier as it an additional bracket to hold the clutch switch...

I think
