radio, park assist & satnav not working
hi i am looking at a 54 d5 se for sale and the radio wont come on which controls the satnav, phone & parking? i have read some threads regarding the icm panel is the dealer prices of around 800-1000 pound is this the only way to fix? or can i swap the head unit from another vehical? will it need progaming to the car? or how much to remove the factory head unit and fit another? what functions would i lose?

Phil, walk away mate. There are plenty of other cars available, so it's not worth getting one that has problems at the outset.
Sorry if that's not what you wanted to read

I thought the satnav was controlled separately from the radio system in the older XC9s? Our 2004 (54) XC90's satnav is controlled by the remote control. Our satnav doesn't work because we don't have the DVDs, and our phone has no SIM (not that I want to use the phone!).
As TMR says, there are plenty of good older XC90s around for the right price (as long as you don't want one with the passenger airbag deactivation ;-)) |

hi its a 54 plate 2005 diesal 113 miles on it with one owner and fully serviced for five grand everything was working then when i tried to switch on the radio it lit up with high power radio and then went off keeps doing it? i think i will replace it with a all in one unit with reversing camera as others have done just keeping the display part connected so the car still thinks the radio is there.

Does it come on for about 1 minute before turning off and then coming back on again?

Mine did this when the satnav unit failed completly (due to getting submurged but thats a different story) and i bought a fibre optic connector that loops out the satnav and allows the radio/park assist and the phone to work. The connector cost £20.
