Volvo v90 dash cam
Hi Ladies & Gents
Yesterday I purchased my second Volvo of my driving career thus far at 53 years of age. Originally I had the V70 and it was a dream, anyway I always knew that at some point I will buy another Volvo but could never decide on what model. Well yesterday I went for it and splashed out on a beautiful V90 D5 Powerpulse R Design 5dr AWD. Absolutely love the car and already had put on a detachable towbar and the big rubber mat and dog guard for my two border terriers, however that leaves me with just a Dash Cam to get and this is where I want to pick your brains if I may. My local Volvo dealer sell one called a RoadHawk DC2 at a cost of £270 to supply and fit. Now obviously I am concerned about affecting my warranty if I go elsewhere to have one fitted and I just wanted to ask you all if you think its a good dash cam or not? They already do a newer model called the DC3 so it makes sense to have the latest one fitted, however I can't help thinking that there might be an even better dash cam out there that you guys may think is better. Some may think that a dash cam is just a dash cam and they are all much the same and to be honest I probably agree with you, but I just wanted to put it out there to see if there are any of you that are very knowledgeable about dash cams and can give me some advise. Cheers in advance Paul |

Hi Paul,
There's nothing wrong with RoadHawk cameras, but £270 seems steep for a DC-2, they must be charging plenty for the install. If you want something feature-rich and don't mind paying for it then check out BlackVue. If on the other hand you're happy with something that just delivers the basics reliably enough and doesn't break the bank then definitely check out YI. Install isn't difficult and shouldn't affect your warranty if done properly, maybe speak to a local auto electrician before paying dealer rates? |
