Reduced engine performance message
Hi everyone, this morning I reversed out of my Drive fairy quickly and then moved into first gear also quite rapidly straight from a cold start. Front wheels span a little and then the reduced engine performance message came up and I couldn’t rev the car above 1500rpm.
I limped along until I could stop and turn the engine off and this then fixed the issue of not revving higher and there is no noticeable drop in power. However the reduced engine performance message is still there. Is this likely to be a mixture of a cold start and weather and also no traction pulling off just confusing the system? Am I right in thinking this message doesn’t necessarily mean the power of the engine and could mean blocked filters or sensors? It’s a 2012 s60 d3 Thanks Alex |

It is quite likely to be the boost pressure sensor, which is located on the intercooler. Last edited by volvo s60 2001; Nov 8th, 2019 at 11:18. |

Get it plugged in to VIDA at a dealer or Volvo Indie - it will likely tell you exactly what the issue is.
