What engine?

I didn't change the pump on mine as I was advised it's unnecessary if it's the original Volvo one (the local independent Volvo specialist who has been there since well before the dawn of S and V40s and said they've never seen one fail, ever). However if it has been changed in the past for an aftermarket one I would advise to change it.

As for ease, I just sent mine to the garage as I really couldn't be bothered to do it myself but I'm sure it will be possible with the right stuff and patience.
