Default 940 - J Reg Estate

Blue - engine has blown turbo and was leaking oil from back oil seal, I think. I have a 'new' running (I was told) engine sitting in the back which I bought for £150

I had replaced the road springs and the shock absorbers. It needs new back callipers - I had done the back parking brake. It has been sitting on concrete for 3 years and has some rust - a hole on the drivers door where it meets the top. It is RIPE FOR RESTORATION and too good, really to scrap. It would make a splendid project for someone.

I loved this car but am now unable to work on it due to kidney failure. If any one is interested, please e-mail me immediately. Sensible offers, please! I am near Land's End. It would need trailering away.

Thank you,
Kenneth/Buryan

I AM SO SORRY, I am unable to break due to illness, so it's the whole car or nothing! Thanks. Kenneth/Buryan.

I’m so sorry to hear about your illness. I’m in Falmouth now so near by but I’ve already got my hands full with my own 940. I hope the car goes to a good home

Location doesn't have to be an issue nowadays if you're considering buying a car that's not close to where you live, or one that can't be driven due to lack of MOT etc. I've used car delivery companes such as Anyvan a few times and been pleased with the service. They quoted me £240 to bring a 940 estate from Devon to Hampshire, and a few months ago, they brought a Cadillac down here from Manchester for a mate of mine for around £300.

Default VOLVO 940 (and V70) - Two for sale!

WILL - just seen you kind message - and many thanks. I, as Mr. Churchill said, KBO. Keep Buggering On!

THIS VOLVO 940 IS STILL FOR (modest) SALE. Someone is interested in the engine but has yet still not collected. I am waiting to hear from him. Seems a great shame to scrap the rest of a 940, but it has to go , because I have to move.

ALSO have my slightly care-worn (!) V70 in olive green - 171,496 miles for sale soon, as I'm buying a diesel V70 - I have spent over £1,500 on this car this year and it has 11 months MOT left. It has a couple of knocks in the panel-work - a lamp-post came out to join me and I ran into my own other car!! (Change of pills was responsible for those!). The head gasket started to go at exactly 171.000 miles on the clock and I added STEEL-SEAL - NOT believing in its worth. How wrong I was. Within a minute of starting up the engine fired on the fifth cylinder and has never missed a beat since - the system is no longer over pressurised and. I am VERY impressed! I suppose eventually the head will need doing - and I was quoted a thousand to have that done. Decided to buy the diesel V70 as so much better fuel consumption - this is being collected in a couple of weeks.

E-mail me if anyone is interested, please.

Best wishes to all,
Kenneth.

Meant TO SAY as I have in the right place (!), the V70 is a 'T' Reg.

No! A chap from here keeps saying he will buy the engine (from the 940) and that has gone on for ages and not done so yet! I would rather sell the whole car complete with running engine sitting in the back.
