Default Half shaft puller

Anyone have any suggestions for removing the halfshafts from 1880e rear axle?
I’ve seen mentioned a sliding hammer arrangement, but looked on line to see if available. Before making something, I thought I’d check here.
Is there a tool hire service in VOC, as with other clubs?
Thanks

Stuart;

Welcome to this Forum!

Typically a sliding hammer style puller is used...

...I started writing "after removing Drum (where an approved Puller and techniques are also important!),..." but I rechecked your post and see it is an E, so you will have the discs and a different bearing arrangement in the rear...I don't recall this arrangement so cant give info which will certainly would be incorrect...perhaps a look into a Haynes manual, or another better informed poster will help.

Cheers from Connecticut!

A basic slide hammer with a few fittings can be bought for less than £15 with free postage from Amazon or eBay. Useful to have.

Cross posting this from the boot hinge torsion bars thread. Scroll down here to see a slide hammer being used for axle removal. Yes it is a drum brake axle but you'll get the idea.
