Question B230ET 3 Inch exhaust from stock downpipe ?

Hello Everyone,

I've been looking for a 3 inch stainless steel down pipe for the car but i can't
seem to find one, I can only seem to find standard size stainless downpipes
from skandix. So would i still see a benefit in performance if i used a 3 inch
system from a standard down pipe.

Thanks
Jack

Depends what other mods you've got. If you haven't got any other mods, chances are you'll just make it noisy, thirsty and slow. THere's a lot of good exhausts around with a 2.5" bore or even slightly less that will give you a nice note and an improvement in power and economy.

If you just want a downpipe https://www.classicswede.co.uk/940_t..._18337088.aspx

for under 350BHP there is no point in 3 inch and you would be better off with a 2.5 inch system

2.5 inch will do what you need. Going to 3 inch will just make more noise

I just got a longlife fitter to make one with a cat and rear box only for about £550 was a while ago though.

The main difficulty is the Turbo mating flange and clamp, so try and buy an ebay weld on flange. It needs to be slightly smaller than 2.5", can't remember the exact dimension. I still don't have a clamp solution other than old Volvo ones (which are usually in good condition).

The guy I bought mine from welds a bit of pipe to the back of the turbo and fits a 3" V band. I've got a 3" system from the downpipe back for mine.
