I don't think so it is still pulsing(throbbing- like im pushing the throttle and letting it off but im not. i think you know what i mean) under throttle at low revs and like it doesn't want to rev after I've started it for a few secs I don't know about the air filter. I can get that checked some time this week where can I locate that too??. on the picture from Thong is it the little pipe bottom right of the blue circle??

I think you need to hook up your motor to Volvo diagnostics, you’ll get a clearer picture.

Hello Bishop,
I have similar problem, when engine is hard to start and really jerky right after the start. It also sounds terrable... Here is a video https://youtu.be/71ERwjIHTTw I have not been able to get to the bootom of my cars problem. I know the glow plugs are working because i tested them, then replacet them with new ones, checked if they get voltage. Throttle body also can not be at fault, becaus i changed it last winter. Also car has no codes. If anyone has any suggestions please share. Thanks and cheers! |

Thanks for advice!
As I understood from reading posts sticking throttle body is a problem for models without DPF (1 single flap). I have a model with DPF (2 flaps). I replaced it because one of valve return mechanism plastic gears had snapped. But I will definitely try this in a day or 2 |

Had similar issue, lots of smoke and strange rattling when cold.
After doing some research I've decided to check EGR. I've cleaned it, but it didn't help much. Then I've stripped the EGR along with its' cooler. It was full of sh*t. Completely clogged. Replaced it with used one but clear and everything is finally OK. Just needed to re-adapt the EGR in VIDA. |

Evening all,
so after a few extra garages taking a look at the motor, they have said it's my valve seals that have gone as it can't be anything else, has anyone had any dealings with these?? both places have said it'll be easier to change the engine, does this sound correct to anyone?? |

Go and get Volvo to look at it and give you a diagnostic readout from the car. Ask THEM about the "change the whole engine is easier than replace valve seals" they do like a laugh.
