I had to blow cold under the steering wheel, rubber is fine. Indoor rotation if switched on so the air is not so cold. The cutters have calibrated with vida and the error codes are not. Some have the same problem with v70 models. Does this have any help?

I have read the whole thread and much of what has been described is like I have experienced. Again, the first thing was water pump checked - no problem. The thermostat was stuck open and replaced and apparently there was an air lock in the heating matrix. This was apparently cleared. None of this changed anything. Then after consultation with Volvo, a part was replaced, air control sensor part no. 31369324, but again no change.
What is different with my car though, is how it presents itself. If I switch off A/C and auto, turn both temperature controls to max. and turn down the fan, a small amount of hot air comes out of the vents. If I leave the temperature setting the same, turn on A/C and turn on auto, it goes to max. fan and blows out cold. And basically, any other setting than max. goes immediately to cold. Having thrown too much money at this already, I would really like to work out what the problem could be before trying anything else. Cheers, Kevin |

I've got the Behr heater matrix (OEM - 9171503), O-rings x2 (OEM - 8693268) and Clips x2 (OEM - 30767252)...all in about £100. I've read about the job and it doesn't sound too bad. I'll let you know if the heater is any better after the weekend. Cheers Martin |

If you are not going to remove the whole dash you will need to cut the plenum chamber and as such will need a sealing of some sort to make sure it is sealed afterwards.

Yes you can, mine is, i used superglue to do so but as its a hard plastic it deformed slightly when cut which left small holes hence the sealant needed.

Does it make life sufficiently easier if you remove the passenger seat before attempting this, or is it not worth the effort for the amount of time you're down in the foot well? Cheers Martin |

I left mine but with thought it would be easier with it out as it gives that bit more room. You wouldn’t need to remove it from the car just un bolt it disconnect the electrics and seat belt and using the two tabs fold it in half then place it in the middle row foot well
