Default Bloody top mount - how much play?

I can rock my 2004 S60 D5 engine back and forth about 10mm each way. I know some movement is normal but is this too much?
I know my gearbox torque mount is goosed (technical term) and I'll be replacing that ASAP but do I need a top one too?

That seems to be the normal amount of play. Mine was alarmingly loose.

Better to leave descriptions to someone who engineers mounts but my money says it's OK as is. The engine'll sit happily most of the time with gravity pulling it down transmitting the vibrations to the lower mounts.
The play in the top mount lets it shake an unnoticeable bit. Soon enough the top mount's limits are met and the soft rubber kicks in.

What I noticed was that the cross brace also wobbled greatly. Give yours a twist and see.

I ordered the 2 polyurethane "space fillers" for the braces mounts and they indeed stiffened it up. What I wish I had done later was add the polyurethane block to replace the squishy one you mentioned.

The feeling of tightening was most welcome but I wish I had installed it at least a day later just so I could compare. It's no real hardship as the job of removing it is literally 4 minutes.

The tiny bit of shake I experience is quite acceptable.

Hi look at the mount on the right under the front pulley as when that gets weak I lets the engine move front to back and it will give some vibrations as there is a rubber bar inside the mount that hits on the subframe,
