Cam Followers

Hi

I Have a noisy tappet. Where is the best place to get a set of cam followers?
Had a flush put in, done Oil & Filter change. Still doing it. Or is there another
solution?

hello: You do not say what your vehicle is,or the year ?????
Does it have Hydraulic Tappets or the disc insertion type???
I can help you with a supplier but first some more information please.

Try renewing the rubber rings on top the valve stems under the cam followers .

Its a 1992 (J) regd 950TDI (VW) diesel turbo.

Hello Fleetliner 2005
Ok so now we know its a 1992 TDI. This Engine should
not be fitted with hydraulic tappets,but all things are possible. I would now
suggest that you visit or telephone a large Volvo dealer parts department
withe your vehicles VIN number and ask for part numbers & price for these
items. The parts dept will tell you what type of followers you have on your
engine. There will be 12 of them as it is normal to change all,due to the
amount of work involved. There is a good supplier in the Midlands who will
send them to you & his prices are very good compared with Volvo.

last post do you have the details of the vw parts suppliers in the midlands?

i have the 1995 model with hydrolic tappets still noisey the vacum pump makes a lot of noise too try unpluging the white hose at the bulk head

see if it is better . but make sure you plug it back in

You will not find the Hydraulic Lifters on the website but if you telephone
& give all your vehicle information,they will quote you with price/availability
I had my lifters renewed "all 12" about Two weeks ago and Boy what a
difference.
