just make a claim against his insurance, explain, you started repairs as he was going to pay, but now refusing, going to cost £780 to get repaired

if he's insured, they will likely just pay out, with a form saying you accept as full and final settlement, to get rid of claim nice and quick

The insurance inspection has been carried out, he wants it cat C and was pondering on cat B. They have an unwritten polocy of taking cars older than 15 years off the road permanently if involved in an RTC.

It looks like I claim I loose the car I dont claim it looks like I loose out on money. One of those things. Ill simmer onnit. Insurance arent fussed as long as its done in a timely manner

thats a bit gutting, although Cat C is just a VIC test, which as long as test centre is local, is totally painless,

Are they going to find a similar car, for valuation?

Thanks to jimjam440si, I have a 440 with all the bits I need and more to get my car back on the road.

I am now funding the repairs from my own pocket untill I can reclaim costs from the other guy via small claims court (as advised by my parents who are both brokers)

Really sorry to see how this little saga is going.

Pleased you have the necessary to hopefully rebuild the car though, especially given its sentimental value to you.

I know it's a major hassle (let alone expense) that you could doubtless do without, but don't give up!!

Best of luck

David

Hi Andrew,
Sorry to hear of all the trouble you have had. I might be a bit late onto this thread, but if you still need any parts I still have the green 460 which I put on for sale awhile back and which will be scrapped soon. I have also posted (yesterday) a set of headlights and indicators for sale. Please PM me if any of this is of use,
Cheers, Peter.
