V90 Windscreen Washer
Hello
Just wondered if anyone has had this experience...washer pressure for windscreen down by half (roughly) - and stopped washing headlamps altogether. Re-filled reservoir with added white vinegar - and no obvious leaks. Thanks in advance |

Blocked filter/s or pipes or failing pump.

Sorry Nick. I’m not familiar with the V90. Those are what I would check on my old 940 which has an inline filter in the front washer pipework. The front washers and rear washers have separate pumps and pipework which would explain why your rear is ok. The headlamp washer pipework is probably T jointed from the main front washers and may be blocked or disconnected. The only way to find out is methodically check through the system.

Ian has already explained most of it, chances are the reservoir and the main (front screen and headlamps) washer pump is blocked with gunge from cheap screenwash. I hate spending good money on expensive screenwash but it's easier and cheaper in the long run than using cheap screeenwash.
Solution - remove the reservoir, pumps and filters from the reservoir. Strip it all down and put the non-electrical items in the dishwasher with the reservoir facing down. Once it has washed and dried, rebuild it all using a smear of silicone grease on all the rubber seals/grommets to aid their sealing and revive them somewhat. Refill with clean water and good screenwash. Disconnect the hoses at various points and operate the washers to ensure fluid is coming out at a healthy rate, working through the pipework all the way to the headlamp washers and the screen wash jets on the bonnet. While you're at it you may want to upgrade your bonnet washer jets to the S/V40 type with the fan jets - straight swap, use a deep 11mm socket/box spanner on the bottom of the old jets and push up towards the bonnet to release the tangs that retain the jets, pull them out, disconnect then connect the new jets and refit. Vast improvement in coverage and cleaning ability!

You're welcome Nick - these photos may help, first is the reservoir stripped down after dishwasher treatment, second is reassembled. If memory serves there is a subtle difference on the electrical plugs that connect to the pumps and the pipework should be self-evident as to what goes where simply from the length, if in doubt label the pipework before removal.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303653784457 I'm pretty sure those were the washer jets i used on my 760, a short video giving an idea of how they squirt : https://youtu.be/LIC5EiN45YI?t=74 Most of that video was testing the new variable intermittent wipe i added so it starts near the end when the screen was getting a bit dry and needed some liquid on it!
