My P reg 96 is same as yours too.

My steering wheel leather is well knackered and falling off. The above is why I haven't replaced it, for fear a dealer reset job. May just remove old leather and leave it as a black wheel.

This topic is about a 95 940 and it should have the led diagnostic box under the hood.
Late 95 onwards has the OBD in the centre console.

My 940 is a 1997 which is why I want to know about this Vol-fcr

hi i was told to disconnect battery for 20 minutes or so before i started the swop over put airbag safe in boot or out of the way be careful with the clock spring set up think theres a screw that has to be messed with then removed its years ago since i did mine but no problem with SRS light for sure !

Okay, I’ve done some further sleuthing...I do have the OBDII port, but the reader I have won’t connect to it to scan the faults and clear them. It just comes up as “link error” after every attempt.

Is there a procedure I need to follow to get the port to work, or do I need a Volvo specific reader?

If it's in the centre console you will need a specific reader as it's not quite OBDII. Quite a few members have them or you can buy one from Loki the GLT on here

Edit - Not sure if it will pick up on SRS fault

Yours could be early 95 Jim. If Phil's is a late 95 he could have OBD socket in centre console
