On the recommendation of this thread, I've put some Vredestein Quatrac pro 235/60r18.

Very happy in the 10 mins I've had them.

Cost, £100 each from blackcircle (unfitted) - i searched high and low and this was 10% cheaper than the next best.

Default ATS Michelins on offer

ATS Euromaster have an offer on the moment, seem quite a good deal, get a free dash-cam too.

Think I'm gonna go for

MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 4 SUV Extra Load.

A rated grip and fuel economy.

I’ve just popped 4 Michelin’s latitudes on our XC and I’m very impressed by them already, not the cheapest but it rides lovely, quiet and all round performance is good.

We shall see what mileage I get from them

I tried to order the new Avon AS7 all season ( 255/50 R19W 107) as at £124 a corner & good write ups for a recently introduced tyre looked good... but its out of stock in the UK at the moment ( 6 week delivery timescale!!) so have plumped for the Bridgestone A005 Evo... will update once on!

I've teied many of them over the years, and what seems to suit the older car doesnt always seem to suit the 19's on our newer cars.

Cross Climates seem to suit the 19's well. Nokian Weatherproof were a little better in snow and slime, but not by much, and the Cross Climates outlasted them by a little. Not much in it over all and will use either again with confidence and pleasure.

Well 500 miles in and the Bridgestones are :
1. Noticably quieter than the 7 year old Pirelli 103W's.( no surprise!)
2. Steering seems sharper, but the new tyres are 107's so slightly harder sidewall.
3. Seem to fill the arches nicely.
4. seem most comfortable with 37psi all round.

The only downside was the cost compared to the Avon AS7 that I was hoping to try... but there you go.

I am looking to fit new tyres to my 2007 3.2 Petrol XC90 and have decided on either Michelin Cross Climates or Michelin Cross Climate SUV's

Does anyone have any thought on which is the better option for year round use?

Many thanks

Default Nokians?

The last time I was looking at tyres, and ever since I have had an XC90, Nokians were definitely in favour. That seems to have changed. I see other tyres are quite popular now, but they are often more expensive than the Nokians. Are Cross Climates really worth 30% more? Have Nokians got worse or has the competition got better? I have always been very happy with Nokian and have only once had anything else in 13 years.
