That is what I had thought but there are lots of cases of them giving out with age and some that have snapped. Possibly caused by running too long with worn out Nivos?

Quite possibly yes , the above case with the bump stops taking a hammering suggests worn out or incorrect dampers . which would overwork the spring .
Time passing could be a killer too , I haven't worked on a composite rear spring model since around 2007 .
Nice to see them back on the current cars though!
