The five speed gearbox has a little yellow dipstick on the front to check the level.

I’ve managed to source the angel gear oil no issues.

However, DavMac auto supplies doesn’t stock ATF fluid with any mention of JWS 3309. When they search the Reg it recommend an ATF fluid which conforms to Volvo spec 97340.

Would that be ok? Or shall I order the JWS 3309 online?

Mine does have the yellow atf dipstick. So it must be the 5 speed

Search for Smith and Allan online.

Good quality oil and excellent customer service.

I get my JWS 3309 delivered from there in a 20 litre drum.

I’ve done some googling

And the tech sheet for the oil they stock is here https://www.tradetec-oil.co.uk/asset.../TT320-tds.pdf

No mention of jws 3309 on the bottle, but it’s mentioned on the tech sheet as recommended

You will need 20 litres.

I only need to top it up for now as I lost a little whilst taking the engine out as it came with the torque converter.

If I’m successful with the rebuild. I’ll be changing the transmission fluid next summer.

20L seems a lot. Is that to keep flushing it through?

No, it holds about 7 litres but if doing a flush you end up using about 20 litres.

If you are just topping it up then obviously buy less.

Is the haldex separate to the rear diff? Does it have its own oil supply?

If so would it take the SAE80W
