Dent in lower inner passenger door panel
Hey guys a question on the lower inner door panel with a new soft dent made by a hard plastic water bottle after the door shut on it (The water bottles in between the seat in the door in that side little alley area). The dent therefore is in the lower part of the door where that pocket is where you store sunglasses and items and water bottles. Is there anyway to push the dent back out (towards the passenger seat)? It feels like a cardboard or board the lake platform with a soft leather like material over the top but I don’t think it’s leather. I tried to give it time for it to pop back out or Un dent itself But this did not work so far. I called the dealership and they said that I would have to buy a whole new door inside panel for US$1500 if it can’t be popped out. That is to say I cannot buy just a little panel at the bottom of the door it Hass to be the entire door panel replaced. Anyone else have any issues like this and if so how did you fix
Thanks! |

Yep - accidentally did same with a fire extinguisher cylinder in the driver’s door pocket within a week of getting my first XC90 in 2017. I was mighty annoyed it had happened to a brand new car...but time healed the blow, if not the dent so it went back to the lease co the same in Feb this year! (No charges made)
Reach into pocket or live with it I fear!!

Try looking for a PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) technician (cold metal repair), but if its on the corner (edging) then its prob a no. Someone like Dent Wizard perhaps?
