Hi Luk
I have had problems for the past couple of years getting Vida to work on Windows 7 Ultimate. That was until today. I loaded Vida 2012A using info not supplied with discs as they did not work again and i have now got it working.
If your problem is with the amount of RAM/Memory there is a file you can change so that the memory it looks for is set at less than 2gb. I set mine to 1GB and it installed ok. Had other problems when it came to logging on. Will not bore you with that unless you have the same problem.

Best to use a laptop with Windows XP.

If you a DICE unit you'll need to run a 'virtual' version of Windows XP if you're running Windows 7 on a 64bit machine.

I have the software running on several Windows 7 machines but make sure you run and install the 'patch' exe file to the right directory C:\VIDA

Anybody come across a Windows 7 driver for the DICE?

Once you've installed VIDA there is normally another folder with a 'Patch' in it that needs running before you can use VIDA.

Down bottom right by tthe clock in the Systray do you get a VIDA icon with that when you hover over it it says running?

What version of VIDA are you trying to install?

^^^ you need to set that icon to 'Red' by right clicking and select exit.

Then run the patch, ensuring the directory is set to C:\. Then you must restart the computer.

Default IE crashes

Hello,

I have problem with DICE installation.
I have installed VIDA 2012D and DICE drivers, everything looked OK, until I opened VIDA to test communication between VIDA and DiCE.

After selecting "VEHICLE PROFILE" tab in VIDA and selecting communication tool from drop-down menu, IE crashes...That usual thing, "Sorry about the inconvenience, but IE needs to shut down....."
I have tried with IE8 and IE 7.

Have anyone had the same problem? Or any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Andreas

Advice/Tip's: Try to NOT install ViDA along with ANY other Automotive S/W!
Also DO NOT Install along with ViDA, ANY Skype Version! DON'T!
ViDA has strange conflict with Skype and ALWAYS you will
watching the ViDA Monitor = YELLOW!
Did you reboot after installing etc and saving as VCC intranet?

Quote:
You must have little patience till ViDA to install ALL the nesasary things!
Near & at the end of the instalaltion, follow this with HUGE ATTENTION:

- When ViDA Configurator window appear, choose: VCC Intranet!
- Then "Save" and then "Close"
- Finish your Installation
- Reboot your Computer!!! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT

My computer meets the requirements above.

I followed the instructions, I restarted the computer after VIDA installation.

At first, I chose „Internet“ instead of „VCC Internet“ at the end of VIDA installation. After uninstall and install, I chose „VCC Internet“ (using IE 8) and the problem remains. Browser crashes after I choose „VEHICLE PROFILE“.

I’ve attached the Print Screen from the error message...sorry about the quality, but that is maximum that can be uploaded.
In the error message seems like there is a file missing vehicleprofiledwr.js from location //localhost/Vida/JavaScritps/vehicleprofile/vehicleprofiledwr.js

There are Autodata, Pasoft and Autocom installed on the same computer previously, can that have influence ?

All the best,
Andreas

Default MVCI driver

Many installation guides in internet include MVCI Driver Installation. There is nothing about in it in the ReadMe file on the VIDA CD and there is no setup file for that either.
Does anyone know, is this MVCI driver needed for VIDA 2012D aswell?

Thanks,
Andreas
