Default C70 tyres question...

Hi all

After a 5 year gap, back on the scene with a clean 2004 C70, 2.0 auto - pretty sure it has those steering stops as the turning circle is nowhere near as tight as my 1998 V70.

It's presently sitting on 16 inch alloys, but I've now acquired a set of 17 inch Comets (7.5j).

I've got a good spare set of tyres - 245x45x17 - would these fit my C70 or would 225 be a better choice?

Apologies, as a similar question may have been asked a number of times on this forum previously - thanks for reading

225 are the correct tyres. 245 will rub on the inner arches even with the correct blue stops fitted.

I'll probably wait a while (and save up) and get the Comets on after this winter - thanks again.

Sounds like a plan. In the meantime it would be worthwhile checking the lock stops. Are they still.there? - they do have a habit of falling off. Are they the correct blue ones for 17 inch rims? If not worth changing now in readiness for the new wheels, also make sure there is a smear of grease on them - your steering rack will thank you for it.
