Smile how much is a 1987 340 dl worth?

i have come across a 1987 340 dl wich is identical to mine so i asked if it was for sale (thought good doner car) anyway the old bloke who ownes it says he is willing to sell it as he rarely uses it these days if at all.......but he doesnt know how much he wants for it and just said he would accept whatever i thought was fair...as much as i like a bargin i dont want to rip him off

the car has imaculate interior, some small scratches on body, 62000 on the clock, it is a cvt, with complete service history...all work done at a volvo dealership....it is basicly in near mint condition with tax and mot for just under a year

any ideas on its value??

Regardless of condition the car is still almost 22 years old and as such this will reflect in its value, it is not yet a classic and is only worth what the prospective buyer is willing to pay, I personally would only part with £200 max for the car.

We sold our 1986 1.4 340 gl about 4 years ago. It was a bit rusty around arches and average interior but not ripped with 8 months MOT and 3 weeks tax, that was a runner for 50.00 pounds to a dealer. We advertised it privately for 125 pounds and had no interest at all, so sold to trader. Hope this is of use. James

I guess it depends where you advertise and who's out there but I have a recollection that I've read this week that a decent 340 with a reasonable MOT on it is likely to fetch £300ish.

I could of course be mistaken!

Hard to put a value on it, most importantly is body condition...

If it's in nice condition they can go for 500-600, regardless of some peoples views of it not yet being a classic - they are certainly appreciating!

3 doors sell for more money too, but auto will probably deter some people off as not many people know how it works, 300-350 would be fair in my opinion

£300 is a good guide, you will easily get that with tax & test should you want to sell, just check ebay
