Is that outrigger fabricated by your welding wizard ? I managed to push the original outrigger up through the passenger foot well. Stupid place to put the jack i guess but at least i know it was a goner now when outwardly it all looked fine, ah well.

outrigger
Hi,outrigger was bought in by Pez,simple to fit as long as the inner sill, chassis leg and floorpan are rot free. The chassis leg was fabricated(I had some 2mm steel cut and folded for me by my local steel stockist)which I find better than the box section pieces that you can buy from panel stockists.I think the inner sill was also repaired using 2mm steel strip.Hope this helps.Dave

thought id do an update on the estate.
i went a got it back a couple of weeks ago from welding guru dave wright. its had new chassis rails grafted in,floor pans, repairs to the a posts, inner and outer sills, repairs to the bulkhead and an outer wheelarch. back home... some shots of the new metal. spent a whole day, undersealing, filling it with waxoil, and painting the inside of the floor. then put the interior back in.. then set about building all the front end back up,bought a couple of rot free wings from a member off here. now its finally ready for an m.o.t,going to take it in a couple of weeks as im on holiday this week. looks like a bit of a banger at the moment, with different coloured wings and sills in primer, but as soon as its passed a test, famous last words!! then its off for paint!! |

Having lurked for a while, I have to post to say how much i've enjoyed this thread.
Pez, its been great to see, and wish you continued success in the restoration. When there's a bond with a car,its always worth it. |
